Itching is a common side effect with narcotic painkillers such as Percocet but yes you should call the dr to let them know what is going on.

And pls try not to overdo on activity right now so that your body can heal.

I wish you well with your recovery.

I would call the doctor no matter what because this itching may be a side effect of either the percocet or another factor you have come in contact with after surgery. Whatever the case having an allergic reaction right now is not good, definitely call the doctor.

The purpose of the medication is to help ease your pain not cause discomfort. I know that when my wife had the same surgery she was given tyenol with codeine to ease the pain so call your doctor and see if there is another pain killer that they can prescribe so you do not have the uncomfort of itching.
I hope you feel better soon!

Try just taking a half of a percoset at a time and you will have less itching. All narcotics cause itching to some degree or another. Drugs that would not cause itching but might or might not help with your pain would be ibuprofen, tramadol, tylenol, or darvocet.

You can try taking some benadryl or Claritin along with the Percocet but there are plenty of other pain meds available that you might not react to.
