Labyrinth - David Bowie in tights, need I say more.
Dragonheart - Sean Connery as a dragon, wonderful!!
Seven Samurai - The old Japanese Version is a wonderful look in to the past of fantasy adventure and still captures your heart.

Try checking out "Clash of the Titans." I first saw it as a kid back in the 80s, and the special effects was amazing (relative to that time of course). Plus, the story is very good.

I would also recommend the movie "The Thief of Baghdad", a live action Aladdin movie.

Indiana Jones...wow, I remember watching that with my dad..and then going to Disneyland, while they had that theme there, yikes, scared me as a little kid!! but if i can find any new movies, i'll come back. The Princess Bride wouldn't count, would it? It's packed with action + love +death......ha sounds like a shakespeare...no...(I'm watching it now!)
