Did Pam really need to tell Roy about kissing Jim? Was it a case of TMI (too much information)?

I don't think she went too far. She needed a fresh start with Roy and wanted to have everything on the table so that she would know he was truly accepting her, warts and all. The kisses with Jim were a fairly significant event that likely led to her calling off the wedding with just days to spare. She needed to clear the air and see if "New Roy" was genuine.
We saw cracks in his armor even before his furious eruption at the bar. In my opinion, it's just as well that it's over with quickly. I was cringing at the thought of their relationship dragging out only for Pam to realize, again, that Roy is not the one for her and to break up with him, again. I hope he doesn't kill Jim, though. :)

No, she needed to tell him.
The time and location were completely inappropriate.
