I am thinking about getting a belly ring. I think they are sexy, but I'm a
little worried about how the hole will look. If I don't have it in, will I have an ugly hole there? I have a nice belly button now, and don't want to ruin that...are there different gauges of rings, perhaps a very small gauge that would make a smaller hole? Thanks:)

I have my bellybutton pierced, and yes there is a hole there if you take it out, but there really is no reason not to have it in. It's not a huge hole and at a distance it's not noticeable. The standard size stem used for a navel piercing is 14 gauge 7/16” , I'm not sure if it's even offered in a larger gauge(smaller hole) but even if you did get a larger gauge it would be extremely hard to find rings that would fit. I hope this helps! (:

The hole wont be huge if it's out. I have four cartilage piercings and you can only see the hole if you are looking right at the angle it was pierced at, and at that they aren't huge, my largest is a 14 gauge. Your skin will form back and take it's natural shape. There are different gauges. About the smallest that works for a belly ring is 14. Don't be scared, the ratio is big number small hole, small number really big hole. It will be fine as long as it doesn't get infected or reject. Assuming all goes perfect, no problems. Good luck!

there are all diffrent gauges you can be pierced with but the standard is a 14 gauge. I have a navel ring so I am speaking from experience. When I take the ring out it looks like the whole I have in my pierced eyes. Its not big and ugly or nothing. You can't even seen the hole unless you're staring at my navel up close.

the larger the number the smaller the hole... an 18 gauge is really small, were as a 10 is a bigger hole than the 18

well once you have a belly ring, why would you want to take it out? and no it won't leave an ugly hole. depending on how long you have it, it will most likely close. you may have a small red dot of scar tissue (its not very noticeable) if you take it out before it heals or if it gets infected. i had mine pierced when i was 16, it worked out fine and healed fine.. but i had to take it out because my parents found out. so i got it redone a while back (i'm 20 now) and i thought it wasn't healing because it was infected and not responding to antibiotics, so i took it out, but i recently found out my problem was an allergic reaction to the metal (because i got my tongue pierced and was having problems.. changed to plastic and titanium, and it healed up right away) so i'm working on losing some weight, and when i do, i'm going to get my belly button repierced with titanium so it heals. my suggestions are to definitely follow all of the care instructions! its not too bad either.. it hurts for like a week or two. and the actual needle isn't bad. the tongue hurts less... but the belly button isn't really bad either. good luck.. and yeah.. they are VERY sexy, and no, it won't leave an ugly hole on your cute belly button. i've had mine done twice and actually have a lot of scare tissue from the last time.. but its still barely noticeable and my belly button is way cute.

If you are concerned about how your stomach will look after getting a belly ring, you probably should not get one. I have seen people end up with ugly holes it depends who you go to I guess. Belly rings are so out of style now plus everyone has one. You should try to do something else that is unique with your looks if you are not willing to risk having an ugly hole, it cant be reversed.

Does it nonetheless harm? If it hurts, it is in all probability contaminated. i'm incredibly effective the swelling could have long previous down by skill of now. Wait till the swelling is going right down to alter it except you think of that's a threat that the hoop is what's aggravating it. Your physique must be rejecting the piercing, or what the piercing is made out of. It shouldn't decelerate the therapeutic technique, yet do not replace it till you have had it for a month or 2. it is not suitable what variety you regulate it to yet mutually because it is swolling you in all probability shouldn't put in a miraculous one or one that ought to easily get ripped out. and you are able to in all probability leave the surgical steel till it is thoroughly healed and the swelling is going down. good good fortune!

I have had my belly button pierced for over 7 years and really only take it out to change it. If you leave it out for a long period of time, you run the risk of it closing. just get it, it's really cute, and you can go to bodycandy.com for a bunch of cool inexpensive jewlery for it!
