40 year old virgin hands down, less raunchy more real, but then again I'm 43 (and not exactly a virgin).

40 Year Old Virgin is better because although it is a silly movie, there are parts of it that are adult. American Pie was made for the 14 year old horny kid and the 22 year old frat boy. 40 Year Old Virgin would be enjoyable to a 30 year old because it is a more mature movie. American Pie is just flat out stupid...I couldn't even get through the whole thing.

American Pie wins--bar none. It's humor was timed on target to where even the predictable scenes had us laughing to tears. It's the story of one poor guy with the funniest but terrible luck. But through it all, his family and friends stay loyal to him....and eventually he does find love.
40 Year Old Virgin: a funny film also, but focuses too narrowly on one poor guy's sad nerd-like life to discover first time sex and love that follows---something many can say is pure Hollywood fantasy. The comic predictability was there--but fewer laughs also.

I laughed so hard when I watched American Pie. Both movies are very different and can't really be compared. Both are great.

American Pie...
it is a classic and always will be.
Just remember: s*** break, stifler, stifler's mom, milf, am i gonna have a hangover cuz i want one, this one time at band camp,and jim and nadia oh baby, and all the other wacky classic things in those movies.
they should have won an oscar or something.
