Due to my own personal preference, I don't really like the smell of Air fresheners(the little tree ones) maybe because I live in Southern California; the heat doesn't blend well with the smells.

I've heard about Baking Soda, but have never heard that it could be used to neutralize odor or eliminate it from coming in your car, Is this true? and if it is, why doesn't everyone use Baking Soda instead? I mean there's no smell to it, isn't that the obvious better choice?

Everyone's opinions are welcome, thanks

Baking soda works great. You can also buy it in a special, no-spill package for applications just like what you need. It's made for use in the refrigerator - you can get it at the grocery store or some discount stores. It lasts about 6-months.

I have the perfect product that I've used for years and know dozens of other people that use it. It is a product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great. It works so much better than baking soda and all those sprays and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant and gels that warn about staining fabrics and keep away from pets. WIth Fridge-IT, The carbon literally absorbs and eliminates the odors and works for a long time. Just place one or two in your car and trunk. I use this product everywhere including car, storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Definitely worth trying.

Me on the other hand like the air fresheners you hang on your mirror. I have always known baking soda eliminates odors. Did you now that you can put a box of baking soda in your fridge or freezer to get rid of smells. It even tells you about it on the box.

All this alongside with leaving the domicile windows open as much as achievable &I switching the a/c intake to outdoors particularly of recycling, you may have the scent cleared up in a life like quantity of time. i do no longer smoke & I nonetheless opt to maintain air fresheners in my vehicle just to maintain it clean! :) good success!
