Correction:

Rumsfeld doesn't say missile is what hit Pentagon. He says enemies have weapons, missiles to hit Pentagon in future. Read it carefully. "Missile to damage this building" does not mean "missile have damaged this building."

In that same interview you refer to... Rumsfeld also says that he

"Asked a person who'd seen it, and he told me that a plane had flown into it.
I had been aware of a plane going into the World Trade Center, and I saw people on the grass, and we just, we tried to put them in stretchers and then move them out across the grass towards the road and lifted them over a jersey wall so the people on that side could stick them into the ambulances. " (Dondald Rumsfeld)

He is told that a plane had hit Pentagon by a person. But why doesn't he make immediate correction if that is not true? Why would he ask a person what hit Pentagon if he knows it is missile?



911 conspiracy theory claim Rumsfeld said flight 93 was shot down. On 9-11-01 it is Cheney who mistakenly believes 2 planes were shot down by Airforce during the attacks. Cheney have ordered to take down any hijacked planes that may be heading for a target after WTC was hit. Rumsfeld tells Cheney he knows one plane is down, but can’t confirm who brought down the plane (flight 93). This episode was explained in PBS’s Frontline: Dark Side. They had obtained actual transcript of their conversation.
