I've worked d*mn hard in this country to get where i am and i'm proud of what i've been able to do for myself because of this nation's great economic system. If people are either too dumb or too lazy to take advantage of our economic system than that is their fault alone. Why can't anyone take personal responsibilty anymore? I've been reading these posts by the libs crying about the poor and i'm sick of hearing them cry foul and saying it's unfair. I've worked very hard to get where i am at today and i'll be god d*mned if someone wants to come along and take it away from me and give it to someone who does not deserve it cause they were too lazy, too drunk, too stoned or just too stupid to become successful.

It saddens me to see all the people who actually disagree with this. You people who want to disagree with what i'm saying obviously have no clue on how easy it is to make money here. Any reasonably intelligent person knows that you do not make the bulk of your money by working 9-5. The key is to take that money you earn and INVEST it. Once you do that, your money will work for you. Why are the majority of people so ignorant when it comes to investing your money to make more? It's not that hard folks, anyone with a $1000 and an internet connection can invest their money wisely if they do the work.

I agree with you. I too am very tired of the Libs crying foul. The simple fact is, if you dig deeply enough, there is a world wide endeavor to make all people that are not of the ruling class the same. If you don't hold a high position in government, or commerce, then you are little more than a common worker and do not deserve what you have.
Look at the Democrat agenda, they are always looking to help the "poor", they win their favor by buying their vote by promising them better life to come, and taxing everyone who can afford to pay. In their view, we are the cause of the poverty of the poor and should be punished accordingly. The best way, in this country, is to tax the people. To this end, incorporate if you can, own nothing, but control everything. If the Democrats are so bent on fairness for all, then why are people like Ted Kennedy putting their money into over seas accounts? I believe that the Democrats are a poison that we do not need let loose on the country any more than what it has been.

Congrats.
You've achieved the American dream.
Pat yourself on the back, or whatever other mental masturbatory method you prefer.

Now that that's out of the way...
There are roughly 35 million people in the USA that live below the poverty line. An estimated six million are those lazy, drug-using, drunk bums that you see. They are the "visible poor". I agree that these people deserve the lifestyle of their choosing. But what happened to the other 29 million? I'll tell ya...they're out working far harder than you could ever imagine, many times more than one job. Many times they are white families living in rural areas, not the young, unmarried, black "welfare queens" or the bearded, dirty crackheads on the streets that the media portrays. They are the ones that realize sometimes the bootstraps break from all the pulling they do.

George Bush Sr. once said that welfare programs would not exist if the average American could learn to take care of his neighbors in need. I think that's a very poignant statement, even if I don't agree with his politics.
Its a statement about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AS HUMAN BEINGS. We as a people have gotten so wrapped up in our little worlds that we fail to remember that we all bleed red, and therefore are on equal footing with all of the world.
If you can't take the responsibility of being a decent human being, you are no better than those lazy bums that you so criticize.

You are right.
The government should not take taxpayers' money to help people in need. The taxpayers should be the ones helping their fellow man. Unfortunately, we have somehow lost the ability to be decent people, and so now decency towards others is being sactioned by the government.

I may be some crazy liberal, but that ideology is about as old-time conservative as you can get.

are you a millionare? if not, then why not?

have you just not worked hard enough? that's all it takes, according to you guys?

I really want to know your excuse for not being a millionare? you just didn't want to be?

that's the only reason that anyone is a millionare, hard work, so you said you worked hard, so why aren't you one then?

I bet you're just lazy... probably use drugs

EDIT: so you don't work for your money, it works for you?
you have a confederate flag in your ID... are you from the south? ever go into the country, out of the city past the suburbs? most of those people have NO IDEA HOW TO MAKE THEIR MONEY WORK FOR THEM OR HOW TO INVEST OR HOW TO USE A COMPUTER...

see the huge flaw in your logic here?

take a trip out and see some of your southern brothers... no one is teaching them anything and many just don't understand it all... they are just simple country folk...

are they stupid in your book?

Dude I am I single parent and I am far from being a lib. I have at times worked three jobs at a time to support my family and send them to the best schools. The only things Liberals do is exploit us and then over burden the system with administrative fees that even school districts can't afford to educate children and even provide them text books. That's why I choose to drive a fifteen year old car and work one professional job and two blue colar jobs to put my kids through good private schools.

No, why do not we %. it to the bone, depart no speck of flesh and blood untouched, and then we may be able to sit down there searching on the parched white bones and ask your self at what civilized human beings we are. enable's pass proper on tearing one yet another aside and observe in simple terms how a recommendations we may be able to take it in conserving hateful cruel issues to at least one yet another. we are putting one of those superb celebration to the adolescents who can not vote yet because they're only so damned immature.

What about the people who were hard working, sober, motivated, and intelligent, yet discriminated against because they were born into poverty and were discriminated against for any number of reasons, such as sexual orientation, race, or sex? Do you object to a few of your tax dollars going to help a fellow American who is being forced down by the bigotry and hatred of a small amount of powerful people?

Is that what their deal is? I cannot say it is making much of an impact on me emotionally, one way or the other.

I think it is kind of funny to see the lengths they will go to avoid taking responsibility for their own lives and choices.

I do not like that there are people who cannot afford to feed their families. But I do not believe the government's job is to provide our every need.

"He who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and he who gives gifts to the rich -- both come to poverty." Proverbs 22:16

"During the seventh year, let the land lie unplowed and unused. Then the poor among your people may get food from it, and the wild animals may eat what they leave. Do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove." Exodus 23:11

"When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God." Leviticus 23:22

"If one of your countrymen becomes poor and sells some of his property, his nearest relative is to come and redeem what his countryman has sold. . . . If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you. . . . If one of your countrymen becomes poor among you and sells himself to you, do not make him work as a slave." Leviticus 25:25, 35, 39

Stupid f***ing liberals...I'm so tired of people like Jesus and God making me feel so guilty! /sits on her pile of gold and looks down on everyone else

Edit: Well gratz on your investing prowess. I know this may come as a shock but not everyone has the extra capital to RISK on investing. Esp. when they are working a minimum wage job to support their kids. Great compassion and empathy you got going there.

In his book "The Law" Frederic Bastaiat said that the law (another word for Government) is not a breast to provide milk to the poor. When you force a man to give it is not charity but legalized plunder.
