I'm not sure what x cbse is... but I can tell you this much.
Assuming that the colleges you are going to apply to will look at all your grades, failing is never good on your record. It really does nothing to help you.

hi... there is no harm in learning a new language.. especially in india knowing hindi will never be a waste... at times when you go for a job interview they ask you if you know any other language apart from your mother tongue and english, then this will be your plus point... i guess you are too nervous about your board exam... read through your hindi text book as any other story book.. practice writing hard and important words and sentences... practice yo grammar portion well .. you can score well in that area... if you are good at other subjects a pass mark will do in this and you can cope your percentage.... jus don worry be cool.. all the best.. good luck
