Pair up with a buddy and practice interview questions. The more you hear the types of things that are typically asked, and the more you practice various responses, and the more feedback you get, the more ease you will have once you finally sit down and have a real interview.

Plus, remember, body language is part of your communication. Make sure to look people in the eye, sit up straight, and speak clearly. :-)

Good luck!

Check website or talk to supervisors and managers you know to get some common interview questions. For example, lots of interviewers will ask things like "Where do you see yourself in five years?" and "Why do you want to work for us?" and "What special skills to you have that could help our company?" Even though you shouldn't try to memorize answers, it is a good idea to think about possible answers and practice them in front of a mirror so yo can see how you would look to someone else. If you look confused or unsure, the interviewer will probably see it, too.

Once you get an interview scheduled, try to find out something about the company. Knowing about the company might help you be more confident during the interview. A few days after the interview, try to follow-up with the interviewer to see how you could have done better. (Even if you get the job, which means you did well on the interview, ask how you could have done better for future interviews.)

Hi try role-playing with a friend or your mother? Or someone that will just be willing?

If its something that is connected to a confidence issue-maybe try an acting class?

On the other hand, there was one year where I interviewed for 6 positions one right after the other in a course of 6 wks--I got REALLY great at interviews!

Think about what you want to say specifically to practice interview questions, write down your ideas, and then roleplay with a friend/family, and practise, practise, practise. Try speaking in front of a mirror and watch yourself for facial expression and body language, including posture. You could also ask a friend/family member who has been to a recent interview. Above all, believe in yourself. Good luck.

Look between the interviewers eyes, and you'll be more at ease. Talk about what you know in your own words, don't rehears a script. Practice this with others and talk with them after and it will become easier and in turn build your confidence.
