Well, tell your friend that she can go to Planned Parenthood and get BC for free.
Just fill out some papers and no parents' signature is required. Use the pills as the directions say.
Good luck.

I went to planned parenthood for birth control when I was 16. You definitely do NOT have to have a parent with you. In fact, when you fill out the forms, it gives you an option for when they call you (If they need to) Do we say we're calling from Planned Parenthood? I always answered "NO" Keep in mind, If you have caller ID, it will show. If you have a cell phone, I suggest putting that number down. Then tell them you don't have medical insurance and they'll give you more paper work to fill out, then they'll give you a green Planned Parenthood card. That pays for everything, including 1 year supply of birth control. They must do a pap smear before they give it to you, then they offer it, and different brands. The pap smear is fast and easy, may be a little uncomfortable the first time, but definitely worth it and you only have to do it once a year! I recommend it!! Good Luck Sweetie*

When you go in the reception ask how she can help you. Tell her that you would like some birthcontrol. She'll have you fill out a form and survey, a lot of it is just for their records. Then she'll have you talk to the doctor that works there. The doctor will explain the birthcontrol to you. They'll give it to you, it may not be free, but it will be cheap. If you have insurance that will cover it then it'll be free. And NO your parents don't have to come with you. On the form that you fill out they'll ask you for a phone number and if they need to contact you what you would like them to say like "This is Betty calling, is ___ there?" instead of "This is Betty calling from Planned Parenthood" They're very discreet. :) No worries.

i know the clinic in my area gives it to you for free if you're a teen, but others may not. you should call them and ask. i recommend making an appointment, it will make your wait shorter. first you have to fill out some forms, mostly about your health history & insurance & income & things like that. you can tell them not to identify themselves as planned parenthood on those forms too. then you hand those in and wait to be called by a nurse. then you get weighed and have your blood pressure taken and they will ask you about what bc you want to get & when your last period was. then you wait some more and the doctor comes in and talks to you and prescribes your bc and off you go. you don't need a parent, they're very confidential to make sure people get the health treatment they need. some clinics do a pelvic exam, but mine doesn't, you need to ask them about that. if you are sexually active they will do a pregnancy test (urine) so that they don't give bc to a pregnant person & hurt the fetus. don't worry, the clinicians are very nice and will answer all questions you have.

You don't need a parent to come with you to get birth control from Planned Parenthood. In some places, Planned Parenthood has enough funding to offer free or low cost birth control to clients, but in other places they don't. The only way to be sure is to get in touch with your local Planned Parenthood and find out from them. Their website will help you find the Planned Parenthood closest to you.

No a parent does not have to come with you.

Birth Control should be free at any local health clinic, and most even have something like a "teen clinic" day.

To get on birth control they'll give you a pap smear and pelvic exam, and then do things like check your weight, blood pressure etc. You must do all of those thigns to get birth control. Nowhere will just give them to you.

Also, most of them offer STD and HIV testing, which is also a really good idea to have done.

You have to have an internal examination and a pap smear before getting birth control and some teaching about whichever method you choose. No its not free. If you want to get some condoms you dont need your mom but if you want the pill I think you need your mom.
