what is the safe sound level for humans?

We humans have certain permissible degree of sound which our ear can receive at a safe level. Between what dB is this safe level? Any references are highly appreciated.

the hearing capacity of human is 0 to 180dB. Sound having intesity above 140dB is called as noise pollution and is unsafe
