Yes. In the 1998/99 Premiership season, Manchester United were leading by 1 point into the last day of the season and both them and 2nd placed Arsenal won their last games which meant United won the title. Manchester United's exploits in the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup were evidently distracting them and that's why they didn't do too well and left it late.

Blackburn Rovers won the 1994-1995 English Premier League on the very last day of the season. the Rovers lead the Premiership with 89 points, 2 points ahead of Manchester United who has 87 points with just one match to go, Liverpool host Blackburn Rovers while West Ham United host Manchester United on 14 May 1995.

Blackburn Rovers have to win their last match at Liverpool but they went down 2-1. so they have wait nervously for a few more minutes as the West Ham United v Manchester United match is still not finished. minutes later, the news filtered through at Anfield as Manchester United failed to beat West Ham United, instead the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Blackburn Rovers finally won the English football top prize, the Premiership, the first top flight title in 81 years. they finished the season on 89 points, just a point ahead of defending champions, Manchester United.
