Ecstasy is just bad for your brain all together. About 3 years ago, I was taking X every weekend for about a year straight. I decided to stop and not long after that I started having serious depression and anxiety and I've been on meds for the past 2 years.

I suppose it's ok to use like once every 3 months or something but not on a regular basis b/c it really messes up your brains chemical balance.

It dehydrates your body VERY fast, and can dehydrate your brain and spine. Loss of spinal and brain fluid at best will give you migraines for a few weeks, at worse, kill you. Most people don't have many side effects. However, Ecstasy itself contains MDMA but is a mixed concociton. Pure MDMA carries less risks. Certainly don't mix it with alcohol or coffee, both of which also dehydrate you. If you are going to take it, at least be smart and drink LOTS of WATER. Remember also, that dehydration is what causes hang-overs.... E dehydrates you more than alcohol.

The fetus is still alive if it has a heartbeat, though I'd recommend a full battery of test and ultrasounds as soon as possible. If the fetus is deformed or adversely affected by the drugs you'll have a few options as far as how you want to proceed. It's a very personal decision that you need to discuss with your doctor depending on how the test results come out.

ecstasy can make your body forget alot of things like being hungry or thirsty. So it is good to remember to stay hydrated (but don't drink too much you can hyper-hydrate and die) and try to eat fruits and vegitables (or food which aren't that heavy.)

prolonged use can drain your seratonin levels ,but after a good break about a couple months or so they start to rise again.
it is also dangerous to take too many pills (in one session) or to take them to often this will stress your body and lead to serious problems.

My advice is if you are going to take E then you should research the pill that you will be getting at http://www.ecstasydata.org/ so you know exacty what is in the pill.

It's impossible to answer your question because to mention harmful effects is to critisize. However it is possible to state the benificial effects because ther are none. It's possible that there may be some medicinal uses but in the hands of ordinary people it is simply bad news.

You could very easily suffer from the following:

Hyperthermia--> Over-heating caused by the drug affecting the body's ability to thermo-regulate. As your body over-heats, you are unable to tell, or rather notice, due to the drug's influence. As a result of over-heating, your body can reach temperatures that can cause severe heat-stroke which can then cause unstoppable bleeding, liver failure, kidney failure, and death. Drinking alcohol adds to the likelihood of over-heating. Dancing also adds to this.

Hyponatraemia--> To combat hyperthermia, some people drink excessive amounts of water. This can be just as harmful as over-heating. Over-compensating for hyperthermia by drinking huge amounts of water can throw off your sodium balance, cause your brain to become compressed, cause pressure on your brain stem, and cause your heart and breathing to be interrupted. This can cause you to drop into a coma, or worse, death.

One single dose has been shown to be able to induce depression for months.

Besides that, there are risks of dehydration and cardiac arrest, and also an increased risk of all serotonin-dependant neurological diseases such as Parkinson's.
