How weird that you asked this! I just bought a new one and the damn handle was too fat. I threw it under the bathroom sink and now I have to buy another one in the morning.

I went out the next day and bought a toothbrush holder that fits the brush.

Throw away the toothbrush holder. If its mounted to the wall, just keep a cloth on it if anything.

for a few bucks walmart sells wide holed holders or use a cup
