I have a friend named Dawn but her parents smoke. So my Mom won't let me over there (plus my mom hates her dad). And a little while ago she invited me to a sleep-over. I had to turn her down becouse of my mom. What do i do?

I am a smoker but I do not let my baby go into people's homes who smoke. I go to great lengths to make sure I keep all clothing with smoke on it away from my baby. So I completely understand why your mom doesn't want you in your friend's home.
Maybe you can invite her to your house. I'm sure she understands that its your mom who won't allow you to go there, and that you would visit her if you could.

I really hate to admit this, but my son has a friend that likes to come over and stay the night, and I smoke, but they don't. He has to keep an extra set of clothes in his backpack (zipped tightly!), and put those on right before he goes home. He also takes a shower right before he goes home so his hair doesn't smell like smoke. I was offended at first, but after I thought about it, I don't blame the parents for not wanting their son to come home smelling like smoke! It stinks!!!!!!!!!

Try having her over so your mom wont have to worry and your friend doesnt have to feel let down thats what I do and my mom and friend both agree with the plan!

talk to her.. she's your best friend.. she'll understand.. and if she has a little diffuculty understanding, try to understand that it hurts too.. hearing that your best friend's mom doesnt like your dad, how would you feel?
yeah you'd get pretty hurt.. so understand too..
but if your friendship is reallly strong, you wouldn't let this little thing destroy your friendship, its your choice not anyboy else's choice if you should be friends or not..
so ask your self?
will i let this interfere with my friendship?
