It's what everyone has. I suggest getting something different than a Fender just to be original.

it's a pretty good guitar....especially if your just starting...I mean their are lots of much better guitars, but believe me their are also lots worse....just don't buy one of those squires that come in the box kits....because if you get serious anytime soon, then you'll probably need to upgrade. But yeah...any fender is usually good

dude people are giving all of these answers and they dont know what they are talking bout, its all bout what ur playing, if ur playing solos a lot, get a 24 fret guitar, if u r playing like rythem a lot get a strat or sumtin with 21-22 frets, and strats are good on chords also i found out

The best! Alot of great guitars players played stratocasters in my opinion its the best guitar

if its a stratocaster its amazing ,
if its a strat by squier its still a great guitar but not as good as the stratocaster

Absolutely.
It's a classic. It does depend what sound you're going for, though. But look around and you'll notice how many musicians use it.

yeah, it has really good sound quality... i play a epiphone which is a lot cheaper... but a great guitar... i would look at guitar center.com
