It has to be 4,000 words or less, and I have thought and thought and thought. I think I would like to do a spin-off of a fairy tale, but I have NO ideas!! Please don't offer me any story ideas of your own (I'm not about to plagerize) but instead offer any suggestions you might have for coming up with one. Thank you so much!!!!

The best thing I can say is use your imagination, if you have one. If you aren't looking for suggestions then I don't know how else to help you. Considering suggestions for a story isn't plagerizing...it's taking ideas. I suggest doing some yoga or meditating on the idea. :) Good Luck

Well if you want to run off the fairy-tale thing...
Pick a tale, like Cinderella, Snow White, whatever. Or you could just run with "fairy tales" as a subject.
Pull out a sheet of paper.
Turn off all music or anything distracting.
Write the name of the tale at the top.
And write any and every word or thought, no matter how obscure, that comes to your head. The results are interesting, and you might be able to link the words into ideas, plots.
Good luck :)

Just base it off of something that you're interested. I was a Greek mythology person back in 7th grade and so I wrote a story about unicorns and Nymphs for a school project. Then I matured (thank gosh) and I like the historical settings more.
Let's say your favorite animal is a sloth and your favorite fairy tale is... Antigone. Well, not a fairy tale, but still. So you can even retell the tale through the eyes of a sloth... Or something of that nature. Or you can take Antigone and replay it with the sloths... A bad example, but it does hold the point.
Hope that helped... ha. Good luck!

I can't "give" you a story because that wouldn't be right since its for an assignment, but I'll try and help you jumpstart your own immagination.

A spin off of a fairytale huh?

What if you did an allegory where every character is based on a fairytale or character and choose a variety of tales. Of course you'll still need to find a plot, but that's something you HAVE to do yourself.

hope that helps.

Since you would like to write a spin-off of a fairytale, perhaps write the untold beginning, Similar to Wicked the musical which is the untold story of the witches of oz as so much happened before dorothy dropped in..etc.. Or you could do a day in the life of sleeping beauty as she awakes in 2007? lol.. Hope this helps. Good Luck :)
