my step father was defended by a public defender and was convicted of a murder someone else admitted to.he recieved life without parole.just recenently the public defender was arrested after a month long investagation,for possesion, and under the influence,he also was convicted of dui the same year of my step fathers trial .the judge said he recieved a phone call in his chambers from a lawyer requesting his release.,but the judge "doesnt recall the name"yea right.this is already half way under the rug,how do we get this case retried,what are the steps you suggest ,open to any.a lawyer once said to me that"justice comes to those who can afford it"and that scares me.to think a murderer or rapest can be free if he has money.

The only thing poor people can do is cross their fingers and pray.
If you don't play their money game in the court system it's like rolling the dice. Money talks and #### walks. It's always been that way.

It's the same system for both, the only difference is the quality of lawyer. His case needs to be reviewed by the Appellate Court in your jurisdiction. Hire a lawyer, or research the steps needed to bump his case up.

I was arrested and I went in guilty as sin with the evidence right there with my $5000 lawyer and my suit and new hair cut and got off scott free--what do suppose happened to that black kid in chains and an orange jump suit got that came in after me--I'm embarrassed to say I don't know but I had feeling he wasn't as 'lucky' as me.
