It really depends on where you live... you have to wait until the last frost of the season... Check the Farmer's Almanac and it will tell you all you need to know.

You can type in Gardening Zones and many web sites come up and many have a zone map.
www,usna.usda.gov/Hardzone/ushma.html? That web has a pretty good map.
Talk to neighbors who have planted garden every year. They will know your area. Talk to the old timers.
In my area you are really pushing it if you plant may 15. I safer to wait till May 30.
We plant peas and corn together to save space. The peas and corn can handle cooler weather. The peas are up and harvested buy the time the corn get a good start.
I bought a gardening book that covers vegetables, flowers and landscaping, a beautiful veg. and flower garden. It also tell when to prune roses, trees and when to plant them.
You can find many books to your liking at your local book store.
If you don't want to pay the price of a book, go to your local Library and copy the pages you need.
Hope I have been of help.

It all depends on what you want to plant. Some vegetables like colder temps ....peas, radishes, spinach, but some cannot tolerate cold temps ....tomatoes, melons, squash and peppers. Wait until the soil is dry enough to work, then you can begin to plant your cold weather plants. You can start many plants inside your home and then transplant them after the soil warms and chance of frost is over. Here in Utah I put out my tomatoes about the second week of May. Good luck to you!

Why don't you read the back of the seed packet? All of them have the directions on when to plant. I live in OH, and I put my peas in on Good Friday. That's when the Farmer's Almanac says to, and I've done it for 35 years. I get all the peas I need before anything else gets to ripen. I agree with one poster. Ask a gardener you know.

You should probably do it in the spring.I recomend when it gets about 60/61 to 69/70 degrees or when its perfect weather.I dont say the summer because plants/flowers/vegetables will die in summer.I f you live in the Temerate Zones I would do it in spring. If you are in the Tropical Zone I would do it when its 60 to 70ish degrees weathr.Always tend it!

so what you are going to cross your fingers and hope for the best?
if you don't know what you are doing and don't want to take the time to find out be sure and keep a journal of your mis-steps so that you don't repeat the same ones next year.
otherwise start reading up on it and asking people who are selling/giving you seed what works best for them.
