Koi are omnivorous, which means they need both protein and plant-based foods in their diet. Squid,by itself, is too rich as a main staple, but can be fed as an occasional treat along with brine shrimp, chopped regular shrimp, krill, plankton, blood worms, etc., even chopped boiled eggs. Don't forget to also feed them things like dark green lettuces, spinach, broccoli flowers, cucumbers, zucchini, oranges, kiwis, grapes, melons, or anything else you feel like trying. Just remember to remove whatever they don't eat. But, the basic staple of their diet should be specialized koi pellets. Choose the ones for color as most of us don't really need to encourage growth!

I wouldn't recommend it as a staple in the fishes diet, but a little every once in a while shouldn't hurt anything.
