multiplication:
4/12*10/4=40/48 or 5/6 (multiplying the numerators and the denominators then writing them to their lowest terms.)

division:
(4/12)/(10/4)=4/12*4/10=16/120 or 2/15 (multiplying the first given to the reciprocal of the other.)
