my rising is in virgo and even tho i have an aries sun i noticed that i am very cautious about new surroundings. I have to anaylze everything and make sure its ok to then come out and be myself. We strive for perfection and for me thats what has kept me from being me. I had crooked teeth when i was younger and always had bad acne so that has kept me from being me. Its weird, i'm also very critical of everything and want everything perfect! Once i'm comfortable though i am very outgoing. I think that is my aries sun and gemini moon in me cuz thats who i feel i really am. Virgo suns may be different than that. I think with most virgos in general, once they have reached perfection they become outgoing. Or at least thats what i read! Virgo is the most complicated sign in the zodiac and the least understood............

Only introverted Virgos are shy. Extroverted Virgos aren't shy.
Additionally, VIrgos are so shy, as you say because that is the nature of a Virgoan person. A lot of them feel that if they speak out right away they will be judged and might say something stupid or unfitting. They don't like to appear stupid or feel embarrassed so, like everyone has said they just like to stay observant and cautious before they break out of their shell.... Well, and then,,.. watch out! :)

Virgos tend to be reserved and analytical. This can seem to be shyness, and it sometimes is, but generally virgos don't like to be the centre of attention, preferring to observe first before getting into anything. Virgos are also discerning, sensitive, and usually thoughtful (reflective). To others this looks as if Virgos are frightened cos the listen more than they speak.

I am a Virgo. I am shy b/c I don't like to lead guys on.
I prefer to take things slowly in a relationship, I have to FULLY trust a guy, before I give myself up. I need to know everything about him, and be sure he won't ditch me in the end.
If I ever do find the right guy, I will always have high expectations. I will not mention my expectations to guys, but I will appear really guarded to a guy to try and tell him to back off, leave me alone, I am not available. That is what makes us seem so guarded.

not all of them are. I am a dude and am shy, but I have a female friend who is Virgo and is very out going and loud. so yeah even thou her and I are both virgos we are very different.

I find they are shy and guarded and as a scorpio, however I have a habit of being able to peer in to their world before sometimes they are comfortable with it and having them shut me out.
I know of one right now who I think is at a crossroads with me in that she likes me for the person I am but I must have not measured up all the way yet and won't reveal her feelings (facial expressions and body language give people away sometimes) in front of others.

Aww, we're not shy, just guarded! I know for me, I tend to think before speaking, and if I don't think my words will sound perfect, I'll just stay quiet. Just don't be obnoxious, and the virgo girls will warm up to you.

I don't think we're shy people.
