I hear that low-rise flared are out AND (thankfully) "Mom-jeans" still are out too. What do I wear? (I'm a mom with a flat stomach that I worked hard for...can wear anything, but the ankle-fitted thing reminds me too much of the 80s in which I was too young to have worn fashion then).

I'm quite comfy in a pair of low-rise flairs, but I DO NOT want to be "that 90s mom".

What do I wear?

I'm 40 and a mom. my favs are from Old Navy-the low rise (NOT ultra low) boot cuts. and mom-jeans are the ugliest things ever. just make sure you wear a longer shirt. i have great abs, too, but this is not the age to show them off outside the beach. I'm with you-skinny jeans? Hello 80's.

Well this is what i tell my mom, you dont want to be that mom who wears the sick mom jeans and get laughed at by friends, you also dont wanan be the mom who wears abercrombie jeans that are wayyyyy too tight because then you look like the mom who is trying to be cool and pretend shes 16 which also isnt good. Go with somthing in the middle between low rise and mom jeans. With some flare and are not up to your belly button but dont have a 1 inch zipper. Also if you are skinny and a mom, you can still show it off but just not too much!

You're way ahead of some of these teens for knowing that low rise jeans are OUT in a big way. Md rise jeans with a slight boot cut are very flattering and are still very much in. So are loose fitting jeans that look more like slacks than jeans with a bit of a dressier look.
WTG on the flat tummy after preganncy. ;o) I'm still working on mine.

I'd go with a good ol' standard mid-rise bootcut jean. It's flattering on just about everyone and is pretty much timeless. A nice medium rise and a slightly bootcut leg will make you look lean and avoid the low-rise trap.

Wear a jean rise that falls about an inch below your belly button and boot cut!

i definitely agree with the bootcut jean- it's not toooo flared and it creates a nice silhouette no matter what your shape is- and it never goes out of style. the best advice anyone can give you is to buy clothes for your body type and your personality. one thing i will say is that no matter how flat your stomach is, if your kids are old enough to care- try and avoid wearing any midriff baring tops- it's embarrassing to be seen with a mom who thinks she's still 18, no matter how hot she is. :-P

Go for low rise, boot cut. They are very flattering and comfy and lots of girls, woman, moms wear them.......at least where I come from. I wear them and love 'em.

i think that low rise boot cut jeans are really nice. they're classics. plus....slacks are always nice too. they don't hav to look to dressed up if you wear the right shoes and shirt. or you can buy the jeans that look like slacks. ohhh! and a nice flowy knee length skirt or dress or longer is always really cute.
