well make sure if he likes you? and if you both likes each other in that way and you both are cool to be together and ready for relationships then go ahead and ask him out? i mean if you both ikes each other and none of you ask each other to be togetehr then no point why not jsut move on or just be good friends since you two dnt want to be together.

i say that let the guy no he likes you and see if he likes you to if so i would say go for it beause even though most of the time boyfriends arnt the best but for the time your with them they are

You're young...have a friend ask him if he likes you. If he does, have them find out if he would say yes if you asked him out. If he still says yes, then go for it!
