Specifically, I am thinking of the girl on myspace where there is a huge controversy over whether or not she should be able to keep her picture on there.

okay, to those of you who think that it is not okay due to the younger audience, if that is your opinion, that is perfectly fine because that is what I asked for. But did you click on the link to see exactly how little of her is exposed? If you did, great! I am not trying to convince you of anything, but I personally do not see anything sexual there. I see more breast on prime time that even smaller kids look at.

Personally I think its great. I breastfed both my kids in public with no feelings of shame and nor did I try to hide it. That really gets my goat when people say you should be as discreet as possible and smother baby with a blanket so all the idiots out there dont get offended.
I took heaps of photo's of myself breastfeeding my babies and so did my family as it is such a beautiful thing to witness, babies are at their most beautiful when breastfeeding.
And to Stan W who cares if there is a young audience, they should be taught this is perfectly natural and normal and not something to hide or be ashamed of, or feel like a pervert for seeing it.
When I was a child and played with my dolls I never used a toy bottle, I pretended to breastfeed as I knew that was how babies where fed. Watching a woman breastfeed is beautiful and when I was little it wasnt something anyone was ashamed of so my brothers and I saw it when my Mum breastfed or her friends.

I think people need to get a grip. I could see the fuss if she had both breast hanging out for all to see. You can see barley an peek of breast tissue in this picture . My god little girls {and some grown women} walk around the street with more than that exposed on a regular basis and know one is complaining! I saw a little girl{17 maybe at most} walking in the mall the other day with pants cut so low that if she bent over everyone would get the full moon and a shirt cut so high and low that if a small breeze blew she would be topless! I breast fed in public and the half the time because I was covered no one was the wiser. And those who were rude to me I just got rude rite back. It is not a crime for women to walk around half naked { which in some cases I find more offending than a woman feeding her baby} So why should it be one to feed you child!

Sorry but I think breastfeeding should be done IN PRIVATE. I breastfed my child in private. I do not give a rats butt what those nazi's at la leche league or birkenstock wearing earthmothers say. It's tacky. Many tout how "natural" it is. So is taking a pee but you don't see that happening in public and if it did, the perp would be arrested for indecent exposure. I personally find it offensive. My son was so loud while he breastfed, I would have be humiliated out in public. Many places have family areas where you can feed your baby. Or if you're in public, bottle feed your kid. There's no excuse for nutty public breastfeeders.

That is what breasts are for!!! Good for those who are brave enough to feed in public. We live in a country where nudity and bare breasts or barely covered breasts and much worse things are plastered all over magazine covers, TV, billboards, etc.... I think it is sad and shameful that the majority seems to lean toward breastfeeding being "inappropriate" in public. I guess that if it makes somebody uncomfortable they shouldn't look. If a child inquires, they should be informed that a mother is feeding her baby.... I unfortunately found myself ducking into bathroom stalls and fitting rooms whenever my son needed to eat. I hope by the time my next one is born I will be comfortable enough with myself that I will be able to breastfeed openly and not have to hide away as if I were doing something wrong.

Breastfeeding is what the breast if for. Women should take precautions to cover up, because modesty is a virtue. However, anyone who teaches their child that a breast is a sexual object seriously needs help. Breasts were not sexual until WE made them that way. Why does a women's breast produce milk? so that she can feed her child. Yes, she should be able to keep her picture on there. My God, she's feeding her child. Have you seen all the women in nothing but underwear, or in sexy lingerie? Yeah, don't think that has ANYTHING to do with a baby. She's covered, and I think it's a beautiful picture.

i don't understand women's breasts are just fine to stare at when they're in a bikini or a tight top but as soon as you pop a baby on one people start fussing...................if any one wants to get uppity about indecentness start with those frickin half hour long girls gone wild commercials and that's on TV! lets not even get to tha fact that they show an adult girl suckling on another girl and i don;t wanna hear that laim "but theres a tiny star in front" excuse lol i've breastfed my 3 boys and to be honest it was very strange at first and it made my immediate family uncomfortable (tho the women in my family are what you could consider LOOSE when it comes to exposing they're body) my girlfriend summed it up a few weeks ago with a joking remark "no no no my boyfriend sucks on my t!ts...not babies"

I see nothing wrong with the photo. I think that people need to get their minds out of the gutter and think straight. Breastfeeding was around long before formula was. I think that if we teach our children that breastfeeding is normal and natural then it won't be something offensive to them either. We need to stop looking at a woman's breasts as a play toy for men and start looking at them as what they were made for:: Feeding babies!!!!!

Breastfeeding is the most natural thing you can do for your baby and shouldn't have to be hidden. If the pic on myspace did not have comments about breastfeeding on it you wouldn't even be able to tell what the baby was doing.

All i have to say is that breast feeding is the most beautiful thing, i don't understand how can anyone judge a woman breastfeeding in public, What are we supposed to do? tell the baby Oh you have to wait i cant feed you in public because some ppl have a problem with it! to hell with theem, anyways nobody told them to watch.

I don't see a problem with it, but some people are offended by clevage so I can understand that they would get upset at seeing a woman breast feeding. I think that if I were going to breast feed in public that I would cover my breast with a baby blanket, but some people don't care if other people see their breasts, so i say to each their own.
