My baby's father was born 3 months premature. I talked to his mom but she says she has no idea why he was premature and neither did the doctors.
His only other child was also born 3 months premature. Though I have my suspicians about this woman, the doctors claim there was no reason for his early birth.
Now I am 5 weeks preggie and this is my first. I am worried that there is a chance I could also go into labor prematurely, even though I plan to do everything my doc suggests to prevent this. I also wonder if this will automatically make my pregnancy "high risk" - not something I want, but I won't lie to my doctor either.

do not concentrate on this; please think positive and ahead ... going forward, how much this baby will offer to your life.

every woman's body is different; i suffered 5 miscarriages after one live birth. I had a negative blood type and my husband had a positive blood type; it was in a day before there was a vaccine to stop that problem, and my doctor explained that it was nature's way of not delivering a baby that would not have been viable and would have died;

so you just never know. The most healthy looking person can have the hardest time delivering; and vice versa. A friend of mine was 4'11" and weighed 98 lbs and had 4 sons each weighing over 11 lbs; and she had them all within 2 hrs of starting labor.

just think positive and enjoy the time before the birth getting ready to welcome that lucky little baby.

I'm not really sure how that works.

Pregnancy is different for every woman. Just eat healthy, take your vitamins and such and excerise to make your labour easier.

If your child is premature that's okay too, it just means it will have to stay at the hospital longer but premature babies grow up healthy and fine anyway.

Just follow your doctors directions and hope for the best!

Ensure that you are taking the correct pre-natal vitamins and that you are eating correctly. Exercise every week (walking, swiming, yoga, etc) If you are really healthy then the chance of having a premy are lessened.
