First, I must admit to loving her work almost abundantly. I have read all of the Vampire Chronicles up to The Blackwood Farm (which I am currently reading) and soon thinking about moving on to her last novel in the chronicle. I have read some reviews and I am certainly not loving them;in fact I am horrified.
The reviews make it seem as if her skill died out and there is no more of Anne Rice to be found in that last book. Since I cannt live without books, or without knowing exactly what I'm going to read next, I must as for some assisstance.
Would Anne Rice fans reccomand Blood Canticle, or would it be ok to just skip her last "chapter" Should I try her other works? I gave The Witching Hour a try and I hated it. I am also interested in her Sleeping Beauty series, but don't know if it's worth it.
Now, for the grand question. Should I just move on to another author after The blackwood farm? What other authors would you reccomand to a die-hard Anne Rice Fan?

PS: I am deeply interested in Vampire books. I don't know why but they just seem out of this world and nothing else is as inovating as Vampires. As long as they are done in an "Anne Rice" kind of fashion, I will love them.
Oh...and a little bit of a less desciptive author would be ok...sometimes Anne Rice just doesn't know when to stop with her over-the-top details.

And again...there is a question wich someone might know the answer to. Why is Lestat considred to powerful? He didn't drink the Queen's blood all that much, a little really. He isn't all that old, actually - Lestat is nothing compared to Marcus. I know i read somewhere in the books that Lestat is as powerful as any of the Millenia Children. I can't seem to guess as to why.

Okay. I used to be a huge Anne Rice fan. I actually liked The Witching Hour. I love Memnoch the Devil.
I think you should read One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Completely different than Anne Rice but you will love it.

I definitely have study all of Anne Rice's artwork, which incorporate the textile written as A.N. Rocquelaure, different than the Jesus books. there's a woman character interior the later books, a Creole female, named Merrick, who's the two a witch and a vampire. i think of she's my own customary.
