I was the only one to get thumbs down, my feelings are even a bit hurt!
He asked if you would ever consider adopting a child, my answer was
yes. My sister is currently planning to adopt an older child, and when my husband and I are older, if we can afford to, we will too. We'd feel irresponsible to have more than two of our own, when the world is overpopulated and so many children need homes.
Why?
Can anyone make me feel better, or less singled out?:(
Thanks

Your answer is great and I would give you a thumbs up:) I've had that happen to me before too where I gave a thoughtful, truthful response. Some people have problems and/or are immature. Don't let them get to you! Fortunately, I think those people are a minority on the site and the most of us are ok people who genuinely try to help others;)

I found out very early on that we can't take anything on here personally . Who ever it was that did that is either a child or an ingrate . One way or the other , you did nothing wrong . Most of these goofs in this category only want to answer perverted crap anyway . Watch some one may even do the same to me for this truthful answer . I really don't care they might grow up some day . Good luck and stay strong .

Thumbs-downs don't mean anything. You will NEVER know why someone gave it to you, unless they email you and tell you what they didn't like about your response.
I've gotten thumb-downs all the time and wondered "why on earth did I get one?? My answer was great!!" But I don't let it make me feel bad. For all I know, someone accidently pushed thumb-downs instead of an upward one.

People give thumb-downs for stupid reasons. They probably didn't agree with your opinion, thought you were being stupid or didn't know what you were talking about, or simply for another dumb reason. Like not liking your avatar or something.

The answerer may have hit the wrong cursor, or maybe came from a large family.

Possibly they don't believe in birth control.

Then there is the "Jerk Factor". How many times have you read answers like " I wrap my head in tinfoil" or " I keep pancakes in my wallet in case I get hungry".

Don't take it seriously if "Blinky83" or "Coochie Mama 22" thinks its funny to vote down answers by someone with a higher rating. Nobody uses their own name for crying out loud.

I found your answer intelligent and well thought out. And I am cooler than any of those guys.

I've gotten thumbs down before for answers that were just like yours. It just means someone was a jerk, I wouldn't sweat about it.

i think of thumbs accomplished is the weapon of determination for trolls. in the event that they could't get a question deleted they punish honestly everyone else. Thumbs up potential people such as you, they actually, quite such as you.

My guess is that someone was just being mean and immature. I'm sure you are aware of the number of teenagers on answers.
