Start Chipper. Beltre only had one great season. Chipper is more consistent, he has just been plagued by injuries. And Start Durham. He will give you more production than Castillo.

Chipper - you picked 2 slow starters but of the two Chipper will have the better batting avg. to go with an overall better offense which will get you more runs. If healthy, he will go on fire in July - so will Beltre. Except Beltre will probably have a .240 batting avg until then.
Durham is another slow starter but should give you 4 or 5 HR's a month. Trade him back and forth with Castillo depending on match ups. Castillo can't hit LHP so play him against RHP to get steals, play Durham against RHP (especially on the road) to get HR's.

Starting Chipper Jones over Adrian Beltre is a no brainer. Chipper is one of the elite hitters in the history of the game.

Compare Chipper and Beltre last season:
Beltre: On Base Percentage .328 Slugging Percentage .465 Batting Average .268
Jones: On Base Percentage .409 Slugging Percentage .596 Batting Average .324

Over their careers:
Beltre OBP .328 SLG .457 BA ,271
Jones OBP .402 SLG .542 BA .304

It is not even close. Chipper beats Adrian by miles. If he remain healthy, you have one of the greatest players in baseball.

Charles

First and foremost, do yourself a favor and pick up Freddy Sanchez and Chone Figgins to replace ANY of these guys.

Beyond that, I'd start Chipper over Beltre because he's a proven player, whereas Beltre had one fluke season and is merely average other than that. I'd take Castillo over Durham, mainly because Durham's career is over. I see him getting hurt, sitting out the season, and retiring.

pfff. dont listen to these people. Beltre was one of the biggest prospects ever, he has to break out soon. He's already shown that he can, and he will knock in ichiro. I would play castillo over Durham.... do you remember when castillo had like 40 game hit streak a few years back... plus he plays for the twins. Check where he is at in the line up though.. it will make a diff.

Jones. He is much more consistent than Beltre, who has not done well since his amazing season 2 years ago. But, I would try to trade Jones for a less injury-prone 3B. Then, I would go with Castillo over Durham, cause he is much more consistent.

on the first question here's what i think. you have to start jones all day. yes, he has been an injury bug over the last couple of years but at least you know what your going to get from him. beltre was labled as a "cant miss" prospect. he conviently had one great year, in the final year of his contract. on top of that he plays in one of the worst hitters parks in baseball, safeco field!!! as long as jones is healthy, his career numbers are proven results. go with him. your 2nd base position is up for debate. durham had a monster year last year. castillio is always a threat to steal but i think he's on the decline. he was great with the marlins batting behind juan pierre, but i think his skills are diminishing. he never has hit for power but when he's on he will give you average and steals. i would play durham for now and see what happens. hope this helps.
