I've heard they are trading in the city of Pittsburgh and Mellon Arena for Kansas City and the new Sprint Center!

They definitely need something to shore up their defensive end. It's funny b/c the same thing happened in the Lemieux days and instead of getting a great defensive man they got Coffey, who wasn't necessarily a great defensive player but a pretty good playmaker who played defense. For the person who mentioned Staal, I don't think they would let him go either b/c they were originally planning on sending him to the minors to save money after the maximum of games that they could play a rookie without having to pay him a big league contract (and they were converting him from a center to a forward), but realized that they couldn't b/c he was so talented. During the Lemieux days they did get Ulf Samuelson so an enforcer probably will have a positive effect on the team.

Here in Chicago the main rumor has been Brian Smolinski for Ryan Malone.
Now I know this will sound crazy, and it may just be people stirring up crap. But there have been rumors that the Blackhawks have been offering Seabrook and a high pick/prospect for Staal but I seriously doubt you guys would give him up.

George Laraque is the only rumor I have heard, he is within the top 3 heavyweights in the NHL, but apparently Phoniex wants too much for him. like a 1st round or a 2nd and 3rd round and a prospect.. Shero isn't willing to do that.

They could definitely do it if they can get past Buffalo and New Jersey first. The Devils and Sabres look great. The Penguins have great talent so they have a good chance.

Somebody i know suggested that they trade for Todd Bertuzzi, but that would ruin the chemistry since he was the one who enede Steve Moore's career. Steve Moore is the Pen's Dominic Moore's brother.

They do need 2 things; an enforcer to protect Crosby and a goalie with playoff experience like Belfour.

possibly a trade with Phoenix for George Laraque, who is an enforcer type defensemen. I just hope they can get their defense fixed and not allow so many shots
