Yes, at least in some countries, for a fee and a few postings in a local newspaper, or perhaps even less hassle, you can leglaly change your name.

I know that in Maine you can change your name legally if your are 18 years old for $10.

YES! many people change their names. You can't legally change your name untill your 18 and for a small fee.
