Does anyone know how Nercomonger warriors in the movie Chronicles of Riddick, how do they convert humans?

And when they convert the humans, do the humans lose their soul? Is it painful? Are they still themselves, but w/ just another being inside them? Or is it just the shell of there body, and the nercomongers is inside.

Okay I will take a crack at this.....from what I gather they kind of tap into the necro world/power. From the commentary and what I got out of the movie it kind of erases your memory. It hurts and disrupts your neurological cycle so they can pump data and necro training and basically change the person that you are. I believe that their isn't a being inside of them. If you listen to the Purifier(the preacher guy that basically committed suicide by walking into the hot atmosphere) the mental necro mindwipe eventually wore off of him. He started to regain his old memories and could not go on killing people in the Necro name so he committed suicide. As for it it hurt....Keira said it hurt at first but once you get past the first stages you just become numb. How I helped.......it is nice to see another Riddick fan....hopefully they make another one.
