want to call in a sports program like FSR but I am not sure if it will cost me money. I will be using a cell phone with free nights and weekends but I am not sure if they will charge me for long distance.

If it's a 1-800 number, its free. All the sports shows I've ever heard have 1-800 numbers.

Most radio stations with a wide audience, like WEEI in Boston, have an 800 or 888 number as well as a local number to call. Chances are your cell phone only will charge for connection time, which could be substantial

It depends on your cell service. If you have free long distance, then no! The sports program can not charge you for calling them, so that isn't an issue ... it just depends on your cell carrier.
