someone said my laptop's uncool already..but i dont know...i got it about 3 weeks ago...GATEWAY with WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM and 2048 mb ddr2 dual channel memory ( i think thats like 2 g)and 160 g sata, 5400 rpm hard drive...processor is intel centrino duo mobile technology and intel core 2 duo processort5200...
I PAID LIKE 1000 DOLLARS BUT HE SAID ITS OLD AND SHITY...even though it has like ultrabright lcd screen and Aircraft grade aluminum in it...So please tell me

It doesn't have the highest specs, but for the money you got a great unit. Remember, the higher the specs, typically the higher battery consumtion. Even going to a 7200rpm drive in a laptop can casue a lot of heat and kill your battery time.
It's always a tradeoff. If you like your pc, never mind them. Haven't you heard, EVERY computer is obsolete.
I'm holding out for dual quad processors and a 15,000 rpm hard drive. Of course, I'll need a car battery to run the thing...

I would have gotten a Dell instead...Gateways are always a ways behind in what they offer as far as "souping" them up...Dell has alot "cooler" add ons and just FYI...Gateways get REALLY hot....Dells in my experience compared to friends and family stay alot cooler and run longer...but for $1000 you got a good starter...you could do some upgrades...
