our librarian / media center person had a missing finger. She told us that she cut it off by mistake with one of those paper cutting doo-hickeys. Was she a trustworthy person? Would you let her help you with a project?

Cutting your finger off by mistake doesn't make you untrustworthy, it just means she had an unfortunate accident.
Maybe you have another reason to distrust her? Maybe its best to be less judgmental and not make decisions about personality based on appearance.

Yes even smart people do reaallly dumb things everynow and again. Trust me, I work in an ER. Maybe she told you that to mess with you a little... Give her a chance to prove her librarian skills.

That would suck but yes I would let her help me with a project. I wouldn't care how her finger got cut off.

i wouldn't trust her unless you could actually tell if she was trully telling the truth! And i had a math teacher who was missing a finger because a horse did something to it, and he was trust worthy
