6-8 times a day which somewhat fluctuates from guy to guy based on age, promiscuity, mental stimulation among other things. If you just look at younger guys, like between the ages of 15 and 30, the average jumps up to probably about 15 times a day.
Erections happen are caused by a wide range of things so I think the more of those things and the more frequently those things happen increase the possibility of erection.

Rachel all guys are different and there are different stages in a guys life, during puberty guys are forever getting erections sometimes to the point of being a curse because you can't concentrate on anything else. guys normally peak sexually around 18/19 years old and have generally started having sex or masterbating which can eleviate the problem, during the night guys get 8 to 9 erections per night which is the body's way of making sure everything works ok so the daily average can be quite high, if he watches a xxx film or looks at stimulating material he;ll get an erection, if he sees a pretty girl he;ll get an erection if he thinks about anything sexual (which is pretty much all the time) he'll get an erection so as you can see it's not easy being a guy
