Most Americans think that America is the "promised land" and that everywhere else is full of terrorists. The truth is, most Americans are about one paycheck away from living under a bridge. If they knew of another place to have a better life, they'd go there in a mass exodus. Go spend some time there and see what the big deal is about. Just stay away from the typical tourist traps and Manila and you'll find a true tropical paradise.

I think this is his second home. He found a place that can incorporate with his way of life, that he didn't found in your home & peace. For some, Philippines is a country of hoodlums, but some prefer it to stay because of freedom that they enjoyed while in the Philippine soil. I suggest you have to visit the Philippines so that you can actually feel and see the difference.

maybe because people regard him highly in the philippines rather than in your place. he could have a better lifestyle there - for him everything would be very cheap, he could afford to buy a new car or house and lot every time he wants to. life is pretty good back there at home and we are very warm and friendly towards people unless of course they do nasty things towards us.
