They must be feeling pretty bad what with losing the House and Senate in the last election, the mess in Iraq, the dire outlook for Republicans in 08, and more than a year left with Bush. We should reach out and embrace them and give em a little pat on the back. And I don't mean to sound condescending .

Just be patient, have compassion and understanding for the mentally challenged. Maybe we could hold a special olympics for republicans.

Well, you could start by making a guarantee that you'll never, ever, ever mess with the second amendment, or anything else in the constitution for that matter. You could reinstate the writ of Habeas Corpus (Bush is NOT a conservative, or that would still be with us)

Take a neutral stance on abortion - that should be a personal choice, or decided at the state level by what the constituents want. And if a person from a no-abortion state wants one, then they should legally be allowed to travel to a pro-abortion state to get one. Abortions must not be abused, and perhaps there should be a limit of one, except in the case of rape or incest.

I am just starting to become interested in religion, but it doesn't color my politics. For many folks, it does. Don't be afraid to show that you are a spiritual person, it might put those people at ease.

You have to present your position clearly, and for all to understand. One thing I really admire about Bush, is the way he presents himself. He is not the greatest speaker. He is not the brightest crayon in the box. But you must admit, when he talks, EVERYONE understands his message. That's an important quality, no matter what party you're in.

Find out what the conservative platforms are, and see if there's something you can embrace. Choose people with personality - not Kerry. Not Obama. Obama can talk for an hour, and still not say anything. Not Hillary - we all hate her. I remember in 2004, there were many dems that I did like - Clark, Edwards...I found Howard Dean very entertaining, and if he calmed down a bit, he might have done very well.

I think the best thing that liberals can do is show Conservatives that we're really more interested in solving the problems of the country, embracing good ideas no matter the source, reducing the National Debt, improving our international stature, restoring our respect, improving our security, and returning our civil rights. Show them that we have a plan, that it will work, and that we're willing to accept workable solutions from the GOP. Show them that we put the nation before the party. Show them that we are more interested in the national economy than our personal bank accounts. And finally, show them that we are more interested in using Yahoo Answers to try to find solutions than we are in using it to insult people.

The outlook isn't dire. We're actually enjoying the Obama/Clinton boxing match.

I think you feel like you're gloating, but your party has done zilch so far. Oh, wait there's that symbolic minimum wage hike (31 states already had a higher minimum wage than the Federal level).

Congrats on that one! Sincerely, Me.

This isn't a Football game.

I'll listen to anyone who stops complaining about other politicians and just gets to work on the difficult issues like social security, global warming, health-care, etc., even if they are democrats.

Plenty of work to do without slamming the Republicans.

Leave them to eating their crow, it appears that they enjoy eating it so much they still haven't realized they lost with what Bush called a Thumpin.....Now as intelligent as Bush is, he even knows he wasn't believable this last election. Some of the Republican electorates hid from him while he was campaigning for them. Now that's some funny stuff...lol

I want to thank you as a conservative. You are doing a great job of making me feel better. So far, Obama, Hillary and John Edwards are the Dem front-runners, so I have a lot to look foward to, in regards to us winning the 08 Presidential, and possibly Senatorial elections. Good luck!

Elect a president with a good idea on how to handle Iraq, we all know that we need one. Then when this mess is over, they won't have anything to worry about except how to reduce taxes on the ultra-rich and keep the rest of us down.

Don't worry, nobody sounds condescending when they claim to be an (oxymoron) intelligent liberal and use the plural, suggesting there could be more than one of such a thing.

I mean , um, what makes you think we're still bitter?

You could make the Conservatives feel better if you would really start to care about the future of our country and actually do something to improve it. Take the time you all spend on whining and bashing and put it into making this world a better place to live. I don't hate the liberals, I think you all are on a self destructive path but I think you can save yourselves by helping out instead of making things worse.

You have got to be kidding! The neo-cons have been walking on the face of the dems for 10 years and we should feel compassion for them?? They are corrupt and should be doing time, not being pitied by dems.
