Well, y=kx. -8=k(-3) where k=8/3.
y=6x
6=8/3x
x= 9/4=2.25
I hope this helps. ;)

y varies directly as
Therefore y=kx,where k is a constant
putting the valus of y= -8 and x= -3 in y=kx
-8=k*-3
k=-8/-3=8/3
So when y=6,
kx=6
=>(8/3)x=6
=> x=6*3/8=9/4

Could be 11
-8+5=-3 6+5=11
Or
X=-16
-8/-3=2 1/6
6x2 1/6 =16
