If you mean the two businesses are linked on the internet you are probably wrong. But, you can use the same password for both businesses. In fact you can use the same password for everything on the internet. You can also have the same user name on every site, as long as it is not already being used by someone else.
However, that is NOT a good idea. Have several passwords, with those for financial sites separate and distinct from those you use to play games, or comment on forums. And, remember to change the passwords on your most sensitive accounts every once in a while just to be safe.
