I am feeding my baby expressed breast milk. How much should breastmilk should he be drinking in 24 hours and how many feedings?

Earlier he used to drink 8 times in 24 hours but now he would drink only 6 times.

I have a four month old and he eats about eight times in 24 hours eating six oz. They usually eat eight to six times a day taking in six to eight Oz's ( eight times a day six oz.) ( six times a day eight oz.) Remember every baby is different, as long as he/she looks healthy and gains weight he/she is doing fine. Great job on breast feeding!

Drinking from a bottle is easier, so he's getting more milk per feeding than he did while on the breast. So, it makes sense that he'd go from 8 feedings to 6... as for quantity, check the websites given by other posters to see what the norms are.

Your baby should nurse for about 25 min. on each breast every 4 hours. Try and make sure he doesn't fall asleep before a full feeding. Try stimulating him by rubbing his feet or maybe tickling his feet. Once he has done his full feeding he should sleep for a while and do it again. As stated before a baby will eat until they are fulfilled. Usually that is about 50 min of feeding. Hope this helps.

i am breastfeeding my 7 month old as long as i can remember when he was 4 months old he would eat15 min on one side then i would have to wake him up .then he would eat 10 min on the other. then sleep for about 3hours .wake up ready to eat again.i am still breastfeeding him he is 7 months old and he weighs about 18 pounds.he just recently started eating baby food.if he is eating only 6 times it may be that he is consuming more at each feeding than he did before .so don't let it worry you too much .as long as he is still gaining weight.

I am also breastfeeding my baby and his doctor told me that he will only drink as much as he wants. My baby drinks about 6 4oz bottles a day. So 6 times is fine!!
