Power is ones ability to influence others and it comes into existence through respect, money, or connections to others of power. It can also be obtained in unethical senses as well such as extortion and threats.
People follow those with power in the hopes of learning a way for themselves to become powerful people.
It's praised because it isn't easy to get and keep a good hold of as there are many factors always playing against you to weaken your powerfullness.

Power gets praised because it raise value. Existence do not come otherwise it is not called an existence but a byproduct or creation.
