Jeb Bush was wrong about Schiavo, so it would negatively impact his ability to run for president. The autopsy confirmed that she had been brain dead long ago, and was not going to ever recover. She had essentially been dead for years.

But the thing that will keep him out of the 2008 race is that the President is his brother. The Republican candidates will distance themselves from Bush as much as they can come 2008.

No. The American people have limited memory. People barely remember Terry Schiavo today. No one will remember in 2008. But Jeb Bush won't run anyway.

That is minor reason Jeb Bush want run for President in 2008. He couldn't win 1 state, look at what his big brother, George Bush did to this country people are sick of the Bushes. There is no way he would just be embarrassing himself more than he already is , but he knows he couldn't win the nomination, since have they gone back to paper ballots, Diebold wouldn't be able to rig the machines. Jeb can't help what his brother has completely destroyed but people judge you by the company you keep.and the family you have and he has a whopper, no way.would he even try.

Jeb Bush has no plans to run for
President.
Besides, the Terry Schiavo incident
is water under the bridge.
However, if Jeb were to run, he would
probably have to explain why he didn't
demand a re-vote in the Jennings /
Buchanan race.

No, as shameful as that incident was (I was in Florida then), his little brother's tarnished name is going to keep him, at the start, from seeking the top position.

In Dad's Footsteps: a Bush for Veep?

OK, so Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has made it clear that he doesn't want to run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008, but that hasn't stopped friends from talking him up for vice president. In fact, allies are pushing him as the perfect match for several Republicans already running for president, including Virginia Sen. George Allen, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. "I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes vice president," said a Bush friend and Florida lawmaker. After all, it was good enough for his dad. The two reasons cited: Jeb is wildly popular in Florida, a key electoral state, and he is often called the smarter Bush brother.

What? Jeb Bush isn't running for president and no they won' hold the Schiavo case against him, not considering what the others have against them.

After 2 poor presidents named Bush, Jeb won't run even though he is probably smarter than his dad or brother. The Shiavo mess would be a real problem for him if he did run and was one of the nails in the coffin of the republican party.

It's unlikely Jeb would be so foolish as to run for President following his brother's popularity. It would be political suicide. The Terry thing is not even a factor one way or another.

Jeb will not run because he is a Bush. Republicans have had enough of the 2 we have had.

No, because the name Bush is no longer welcome by about 65% of America when they look at new presidents. Jeb didn't really need to be involved in that mess anyway.
