Texas,

1) Houston area- has NASA, "Engineering Row" 9/10 of the worlds top engineering companies have a hub in houston, other than seattle/portland area, houston has the most aerospace companies, ( Boeing, Mcdonald douglas,Lockhead,etc)- aerospace companies need tech savy people, as well does the petrochemical people and houston is known to be the petrochemical capitol of the world.

2) Dallas has several companies that cater specifically to computer companies, also dallas has alot of aerospace companies,

3) San Antonio has alot of technology testing companies, like UA laboratories, and of couse there is Texas Instruments, worlds leading maker of calculators and other small gadgets, plus TI also makes the mirrorsfor the DLP tv's, shall I go on.

Texas has always been cutting edge. Florida and Georgia running a close second.
Texas and Florida have NASA, but Texas is home of Texas Instruments. I have a 1982 TRS-82, prolly the first laptop marketed with some success, it was Radio Shack,TI.
Dell Comp is in Texas. UA is real sparky with technology.
I would say best market is Texas or Florida with Georgia in a close third.

Do you consider North Carolina to be in the south? Some folks don't, some folks do. I'm under the impression that there are quite a few tech jobs there. Good luck!

I'd suggest Texas, but Liberals wouldn't be happy there. Try Florida.
