if you can get a connection but it wont stay, make sure that you have the same technology from the same company ex: Linksys Access Point Wireless-G and a PCMCIA card that is Linksys Wireless-G

I had a similar problem last year, I kept losing my wireless connection. In the end AT&T gave me new wireless gateway and it's been fine since. Try rebooting the wireless router also use the Windows connection repair feature on your computer and see if either of them make a difference.

it has to be the wireless wrouter

turn off the modem and the wireless wrouter
try doing a repair on your wireless card

I had the same problem... it may not be you.... (isn't it funny we all think that??)....... You should see whether you're router has an firmware update.... It made all the difference for me.
