I guess I just want to know why they do? Do they know all the facts about partial birth abortion especially?

This is a good question. It seems that the Liberal who speak up on the subject fight tooth and nail for all forms of abortion. How do you that feel thei way justify your position on partial birth abortion where they allow the head to crown enough that they can poke a hole in it and vacuum out the brains to allow the baby to pass easier. How is this not murder?

I'm a democrat and and am for most abortion but not partial birth. That procedure is an abomination and should be outlawed. There are limits. I think abortion should be unrestricted in the first three months, done only with counseling the second three months and only done to preserve the mother's health in the last three months. The reason most liberals oppose ANY restrictions on abortion is because they know that the right wants to get rid of it an inch at a time so the right have to be opposed for every inch. Its a shame a middle ground can't be found and we only get to chose between the extremes of the issue.

Some do it for personal reasons. My mother (adopted) had an illegal abortion when she was in college, which should have ended her career as a mother. She figured if she helped get abortion legalized, she could help save the reproductive abilities of other women.
I deplore anyone who will vote in favor of murdering a fetus that never hurt a soul, but against ending the life of a rapist, pedophile or murderer. It just doesn't make any sense. Or how about those "Pro-choice" vegetarians? They are opposed to killing animals, but okay with killing human beings? What's that about?
Personally, when I hear about a girl considering abortion, I offer to adopt her child, whatever the parentage, and raise it as my own. I mean it, every word. I had an infection in my teens that left me sterile. Due to these promurder laws, my chances of finding a child to adopt are much less than if murder was still illegal. I have this terrific huge house in a small town in New Mexico. I have an income for life. Any child I adopt is guaranteed four years of college at any college they can qualify to get into. I don't drink or use narcotics or smoke, and neither does my husband.

I don't know why you generalize so broadly. Not all liberals support ALL types of abortions, some dont' even support it at all. I'm morally oppossed to abortion, but unfortunately, I don't think outlawing it would do any good, because people will still do it, and it will be unsafe. Yes, partial birth abortion is wrong, I would go so far as to call it murder, and it needs to be stopped.

They don't support the ending of life so much as they support the choice a woman has the right to make, I believe. Personally, I am totally conflicted on the subject. I believe a woman should have control over her body BUT I don't think abortion is a good option. It's very confusing.

This is classically the one that shows their true hipocrisy. First, they'll demand more government to regulate every aspect of one's life (to insure absolute fairness), but then, they'll demand that the government stay out of THEIR bodies... When do the prospective fathers get a say? She has to carry "it" for all of nine months, but he has to pay and carry both of them for the rest of HIS life... Sorry, kind of went off on a rant.
Why? I suspect it's that they perceive it as their one big shot at having some control over something. Or, they secrety wish they'd been aborted by their mothers. It's only a "baby" if they want it to be... And for the record, I've already taken in someone else's "mistake." She's 14 now, and not that I can hear her, but I'm told she's really got a beautiful voice.

They support freedom of choice.

Of course we understand the facts about partial birth abortion. We understand that these decisions are not easy nor pleasant. However, abortion is mostly done in the 1st trimester, not at the later stage that would constitute partial birth.

I can understand your stance, but then I urge you to take in foster children as they are the unloved babies you want to save.

I dont, im a democrat and a Roman Catholic, I used to be pro choice but then realized you cannot choose wether a baby should live or not. However I am aware that it is not the only issue a person should be considering, I deplore poeple who vote on one issue only, e.g its wrong to abort a fetus but its okay to send a 19 year old boy to die in an unjustified war.

I am also aware that banning abortion, unfortunately, will drive those who want to abort to seek dangerous means to do it!

I think since democrats are more liberal..as a whole they tend to support the opposite of the republicans. Individual demo.'s tho can oppose abortion and they do..

Democrats don't believe all types of abortions, they believe that if a child is brought into the world with a mother that doesn't want it will cause more problems.

Also they believe that, even though there against it, if you were raped would you want to raise that child knowing its father is in prison and you live with the guilt? Or if you were a victim of incest, would you want to live with knowing that that child may be born mentally retarded or have to live with your father also being your grand father.

would you want to be your own grandpa
