There is no real definitive normal yet there is an acceptable definition of abnormal. Normal to you is not likely what normal might mean to one saying act normal. They are then expecting your actions to be their version of normal. That could be quite abnormal to your instinctive belief. What was once considered outrageous behavior years ago is now abundant enough in society to be moved from the ranks of abnormal to normal. It is all a matter of personal perception viewed by a given set of values that makes the viewer of an events mind default to this is normal, abnormal, acceptable, unacceptable, shocking, or cool. Be the best you that you can be whatever that entails and consider that normal for you. Society is open minded enough these days to likely consider that as, normal.

Normal really, is a social norm, a kind of average of how everyone is expected to act. Now how many people actually follow that? Not many.

I live by the creed that everyone has something different. That nobody in the whole world is normal, and that if someone makes fun of another person for being "weird", they are trying to cover something for themselves.

Honestly, forget them, because being original is the best way to go. It may be hard now, but once you get older, your personality will have matured and all this "un" normalness will wear off and become a specatacular original personality.

Don't change yourself to meet someone elses needs. You'll end up hurting yourself in the end. If they can't accept you, it's their problem. =D

Its what people are generaly like in your case. If you summed up all certain things in a certain category, normal would be the characteristics most of them possess.

Keep in mind thats not necessarily a good thing.

As for what people tell you, ignore them. Be your own person. Thats the only way you can have real friends who really love you for who you are.

That's the zillion dollar question. Truth is there really is no definition of normal. But, I would say that it indicates behavior that falls short of fanatical, radical, extreme, harmful or destructive.

the border between normal and abnormal is actually quite blurry, even according to Sigmund Freud. in every one of us there is a little bit of a neurotic or a psychotic. it's simply a matter of degree.

My opinion is that normal is being honest to who you really are. If that means being hyper and a little crazy, dressing weird, piercing, tattoos, playing violin, cooking for fun, gardening, being a couch potato, .......etc. and its really true to who you feel you are - then you are normal. If other people don't agree, they are really asking you to conform, not be normal. They are the ones who need to learn to act normal, because being like everyone else, acting to please everyone, and just lying to yourself is just pathetic - not normal.

the standard of normal is different for everyone depending on their circumstances through life.
the only "normal" you can be is yourself and everyone else will just have to accept it.
