Well, it's got to define itself. What if someone wants to know? LOL

It's just a way of making sure it is complete. It also has the definition of the letters of the alphabet, onomatopoeia, and swear words too!

But seriously: it also gives the origin(s) of the word, the pronunciation, and how to pluralize it. There are many things a dictionary can do for us.

A book with the definition of every word you can imagine. I think that would be the definition. Yeah, it's confusing.
