I've heard a lot recently from parents on my Type 1 diabetes group about having difficulty getting schools to cooperate in providing their very young diabetic children with a personal assistant. I mean, come on, these kids are legally entitled to it, so what's the big deal? How could someone like me become a child's personal assistant in the classroom?

Check your public school district for info on how to become a Teachers' Aide. Later you can specify that you'd like to work with Diabetic children.
Good luck.

Talk to the pricipal of the school and see if they will allow you to work there as an assistant or a volunteer.

Schools are always looking for good people.
